G53: display no longer dims when idle?

My laptop display doesn't dim after 5 minutes of being idle like it used to. I changed the power settings but that didn't help. The screen is always at 100% even after an hour of being idle. I don't have anything actively running. Even if I leave the laptop idle after restarting it, it still doesn't dim.



Any help would be appreciated.
