School, medium gaming

hey guy's I was recently awarded a bursary from my university and am looking for one that will fit a 3rd year university students needs.
I watch a lot of t.v online.
The laptop should be able to play some medium gaming and have a good sound system.
A decent microphone to record lectures would be great too=]

General Questions

1) What is your budget?
1150 laptop + 370 for 3 year warranty.
So around 1500 with warranty

2) What size notebook would you prefer?

Thin and Light; 13" - 14" screen
Mainstream; 15"

3) Where will you buying this notebook? You can select the flag of your country as an indicator.

Canada

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a.
Like: So far Asus, Dell, HP, Sony, Lenovo.
All seem like good choices but torn between all, not sure which Asus model is the best build and price (and website to buy)
b.
Dislike: acer (could change mind if right price and quality), Apple

5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed?
No

6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
Office documents, web and photo design programs, audio, movies (I love watching)

School, medium gaming (Would like to play most games on at least medium)
7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?
Both
8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games? Starcraft 2, Black Ops, Soon- TERA, SWTOR, D3

9) How many hours of battery life do you need?
3 hours would be nice, 4 perfect.

10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?
I live in Toronto so I could check out most brands in store and then purchase online.
Does not really matter though.

11) What OS do you prefer? Windows 7

Screen Specifics

12) HD screen min 1366x768 would like to have larger like HD/FHD1440x900 or 1600x900 or 1080p.

13) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?
Not really sure about this one.
I think a non-glossy screen would be best for school while in class? Anti-glare? Matte?
