how to combine dual drives on x505

i just recently got this qosimo x505 and it came with a 500gb 7200rpm sata drive and it also has the 2nd space for another hdd so i had another 500gb 7200rpm drive that is the same as the one already in the laptop.
i installed the 2nd one

but i was wondering is there a way to optimize running dual hdd? if so how do i do it?
